Search our FAQ:
- 1. Do I have to purchase Tastebud Tour tickets in advance?
Tastebud Tour tickets must be purchased in advance as tours sell out quickly. To maximize your chances of getting a desired day, time, and number of tickets, please book well in advance. Tickets can only be purchased with a Visa, AMEX, or MasterCard. Cash is not accepted.
- 2. If a Tastebud Tour is sold out, can I get on a waiting list?
We do not provide a waiting list. If a date and time is sold out, there is always a chance that Tastebud will add an additional tour on that day.
- 3. How many people are on each tour?
Tours accommodate 16-18 people each. If you have a large group, we can set up a private tour just for your group. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
- 4. What does the price of the tour include?
Tour tickets include all food tastings (enough food for lunch) and taxes. Gratuities are optional but appreciated.
- 5. How long are the tours?
Tours are 3-3.5 hours in length and cover about a mile of walking. Please be prepared with good walking shoes.
- 6. Are tours cancelled because of rain?
Tours happen rain or shine (or snow). Please be prepared for inclement weather with a jacket, umbrella, boots, etc.
- 7. Where should I park?
All tours leave from a convenient meeting location or first tour stop. We recommend using SpotHero to secure your parking space close to our meeting location.
- 8. Are vegetarian or special diet foods available?
Vegetarian meals are available. Please let us know in advance. We are not able to accommodate gluten/dairy free or other special diets at this time.
- 9. Can I get a refund or reschedule my Tastebud Tour tickets?
Once purchased, tickets cannot be refunded for any reason, because your space is being guaranteed on the tour, and food is ordered and paid for ahead of time. No partial credits or rescheduling is allowed for partial attendance, no shows, or late arrivals. Please make sure that you have the correct location for your tour. Should you need to reschedule your tour, a $25 per ticket booking fee will apply.
- 10. What about tickets for children?
Tastebud does not offer discounted tickets for children and seniors. If you are bringing a child that is 2 years of age or younger, and the child will not be eating during the tour, you do not need to purchase a ticket for him/her. If your child is 3 years of age or older, you will need to purchase a ticket for him/her, regardless of whether the child will be participating in the tastings.
- 11. Are there any age restrictions?
Children are welcome on Tastebud Tours, but please bear in mind that some children have a limited attention span and a 3-31/2 hour tour may not be appropriate for them. Parents know their children best and should assess the situation individually. Since there is a lot of standing, walking, and street congestion, please consider this when deciding whether a Tastebud Tour is appropriate for your child.
- 12. Do we just walk around and taste food on Tastebud tours?
No. You will not only taste locally made foods that will tantalize your taste buds, you will also learn fun facts. The Tastebud Tour is fully narrated by your Tastebud Tour guide who will discuss food, fun facts, history, culture, and entertainment that Chicago or New Orleans has to offer.
