We Heard Your Questions And We Answered!
Still Have Questions? Contact Us!
- How many people are on each tour?
Tours accommodate 16-18 people each. If you have a large group, we can set up a private tour just for your group. Please contact us at [email protected]
- What does the price of the tour include?
Tour tickets include all food tastings (enough food for lunch) and taxes. Gratuities are optional but appreciated.
- How long are the tours?
Tours are 3-3.5 hours in length and cover about a mile of walking. Please be prepared with good walking shoes.
- Where should I park if I am driving to the tour?
All tours leave from a convenient meeting location or first tour stop and there is public parking around each starting point. See address under specific tour. We recommend using SpotHero to secure your parking space close to our meeting location.
- Do I have to purchase Tastebud tour tickets in advance?
Tastebud tour tickets must be purchased in advance as tours sell out quickly. To maximize your chances of getting a desired day, time, and number of tickets, please book well in advance. Tickets can only be purchased with a Visa, AMEX, or MasterCard. Cash is not accepted.
- Can Tastebud tours accommodate my dietary restrictions or food allergies?
We CAN provide substitutions for vegetarians and those who have shellfish allergies, but we CANNOT make substitutions for any other food allergies (such as gluten-free, dairy-free, etc) or food lifestyle choices (vegan, low-carb, paleo, primal, Whole 30, etc).
Due to the fact that all tastings have been prepared in advance at each location (based on the information you provided to us at the time of ticket purchase), substitutions MUST be requested in advance with your ticket purchase. Please make a note in your reservation on the “comments” portion at checkout. We will not be able to accommodate last minute changes.
Tastebud Food tours have been designed to highlight the quintessential cuisine from each unique city. We are sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
- Can I get a refund or reschedule my Tastebud tour tickets?
Once purchased, tickets cannot be refunded for any reason because your space is being guaranteed on the tour, and the food is ordered and paid for ahead of time. No partial credits or rescheduling is allowed for partial attendance, no-shows, or late arrivals. Please make sure that you have the correct location for your tour. Should you need to reschedule your tour, a $25 booking fee (per ticket) will apply.
- If a Tastebud tour is sold out, can I get on a waiting list?
We do not provide a waiting list. If a date and time is sold out, there is always a chance that Tastebud will add an additional tour on that day.
- What about tickets for children?
Tastebud does not offer discounted tickets for children and seniors. If you are bringing a child that is two years of age or younger, and the child will not be eating during the tour, you do not need to purchase a ticket for him/her. If your child is three years of age or older, you will need to purchase a ticket for him/her, regardless of whether the child will be participating in the tastings.
- Are there any age restrictions?
Children are welcome on Tastebud tours, but please bear in mind that some children have a limited attention span and a 3-3.5 hour tour may not be appropriate for them. Parents know their children best and should assess the situation individually. Since there is a lot of standing, walking, and street congestion, please consider this when deciding whether a Tastebud tour is appropriate for your child.
- Do we just walk around and taste food on Tastebud tours?
Not only will you taste locally-made foods that will tantalize your taste buds, but you will also learn fun facts. The Tastebud tour is fully narrated by your Tastebud tour guide who will discuss food, fun facts, history, culture, and entertainment that Chicago, New Orleans, or San Francisco has to offer.
- Do the tours have anything to offer local area residents?
Definitely! Locals often join Tastebud tours to enjoy wonderful food and to learn about the great fun facts that have been under their noses the all along!

- When is the best time to take a Tastebud tour?
