Chicago Food Tour – “Chicago-Style” Bucket List Tour

Enjoy some of the city’s best local flavors just a short walk from the Magnificent Mile with Tastebud Tours! Our Delicious Flavors of Chicago Food Tour explores the beauty and history of Chicago’s Gold Coast and River North neighborhoods, showcasing local and unique eats along the way. We will walk to six different food tastings (plenty for lunch!) which are included in the ticket price (restaurants are subject to change).

Famous Food Stops

Downtown Dogs

Enjoy the classic Chicago-style hot dog, a block off of Michigan Avenue. Learn how we “drag it through the garden” here in Chicago, and please, hold the ketchup.

Billy Goat Tavern & Grill

You may know this famous tavern from the Saturday Night Live “cheezborger, cheezborger, cheezborger!” skit starring John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, and Bill Murray. This Chicago institution, established in 1934, is also known for baseball folklore and has been visited by everyone from Julia Child to Anthony Bourdain.

Pizano’s Pizza

Roll up your sleeves and sink your teeth into world-famous gourmet deep-dish pizza at Pizano’s Pizza. The secret has been in the crust for more than 60 years (but that’s all we’ll give away). This pioneer family pizzeria was voted #1 deep dish pizza in Chicago by USA Today.

Fannie May Chocolates

Try several different chocolates here and discover why they’ve been a Chicago favorite and household name since 1920.

L’Appetito

Established in 1981, this family-run Italian grocery store and market is a local treasure. Stop in for a sweet treat that was created specifically for an event held at the 1893 Columbian Exposition.

** Please note on Sundays L’Appetito is not open and a substitute sweet treat will be provided**

Chicago Kernel

Chicago Style Popcorn that makes your stomach growl. Grab a tin or two of the city’s premier gourmet popcorn.
